okay so I'm having a party tomorrow and I'm getting a fog machine for it but i heard it will cause the fire alarm to go off. so i was wondering can i just call the fire department and ask them to just deactivate it or not come if it goes off or something?or can i just cover the fire alarm up with something or will it still go off?please and thanks(:
To ensure a really good seal wrap Teflon tape on first then apply pipe dope wipe excess pipe dope off. make sure you can use it on PVC, it says on back of tube or can. most are PVC friendly.
prime it then use the apropriate pvc pipe dope, by appropriate I mean cpvc or regular pvc, hot water or cold lines
Either one. If you decide to go with the paste, or pipe dope, just be sure it's safe for plastics. Most are these days.

Tape can squeeze out and paste makes the fitting easier to work and makes a better seal.
