I can tell you for experience DO NOT USE COLORS, ADDITIVES or PERSERVITIVES, if you can. My 25 year was diagnosed with ADD in the second grade. I had to make a big change in his eating. What a difference after a while. More so, my third child is exactly like child number one. So right from the beginning I cooked and baked everything from scratch. He does not have ADD and he is eight. So far so good. I personally think it is true that colors etc. are harming our kids. Here are some examples of what I don't buy but make: puddings jello's popsicles cakes muffins cookies I am very interested in the study. I will try to look into it.
Unfortunately, science is not full proof and any ONE theory CAN be 'proven' when that's what they want or think the outcome will be. BUT honestly, if this really was the case.don't you think that all children would be hyperactive? Sure some kids may be more sensitive to things- but just because some kids are allergic to nuts should the FDA ban them for causing allergies? Instead of wasting valuable money on such nit picking things.don't you think it would be better spent to HELP those kids who have learning disabilities? As a teacher who has over come Dyscalculia and Dyslexia I can tell you that there is no ONE magic thing that you can say creates a learning ability/ disability. More than likely it's just something hardwired that isn't the same as everyone else.but I think that more people should be educated in what it is and how to help children with it rather than trying to find what they think causes it.
having studied health nutrition for almost 11 years nowI am more convinced then ever that all these additives, dyes, pesicides ect are extremly harmful. Do you know that when they do the testing to see if they are harmful they use a 30 year old MALE. Almost 90% of people affected by additives are either children, the elderely or have immune problems. Also we can ban all we want, because alot of other countries do not ban and we import alot of food in.same thing with pesicides. I took a class were every single chemical color additive that is used today, has a natural alternative that they can use.but it all comes down to the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I am positive that many many of our dieases, allergies and ailments are due to the additives in food and drinks. People who truly care about what they are feeding their bodies need to educate themselves. and if you don't care about yourself.how about protecting YOUR children. READ, READ, READ!!!!!!!!
