Question:

Hardwired smoke/CO2 detector &operate& light is on but test button press does nothing?

I just moved into a new house and the hardwired smoke/CO2 detectors operate light is on but the test button press does nothing. This happens for both detectors in the house. I've held the button for several seconds. Is there something wrong with the wiring or should I just get new detectors? Thanks!

Answer:

you might have water sitting in the lines or your washer isn't draining correctly. Causing a bad smell. I'd suggest calling a sears service tech they might beable to pinpoint the proplem and give you some advice.
Safety glasses or goggles or better yet a face shield, gloves, and a lab coat.
Depends on where you live, where you shop and whether you want brand names or generic.
