I want to put recycled blue jeans from a co called Bonded Logic but I cannot seem to find out what the costs are for my attic that is 30' by 30' by 20' height (it is a pyramid shape)Serious answers only! I have breathing problems and cannot use standard insulationPlus we are going green.
How about mixing wheat germ, brown sugar and cinnamon?
Hello: Blue jeans are made of cotton/polyester blend; I don't know what the R-value per inch is of this material, but I would guess that it is similar to fiberglass, but denserI'm surprised that they won't give you a quoteYou should only need to provide them with the area to be covered, and your target R-value (20 to 30 is good) You can use conventional insulations with a breathing issue; you just can't install it yourselfI would guess that the recycled jeans insulation is the same; you can't install it yourself, but I am not familiar with the installation of this product AFAIK, fiberglass is green, tooI remember seeing an ad in the 70s for insulation made from treated newspaperI doubt the fireproofing chemicals they use are greenDo you know if the jeans stuff is fire-retardant, and what is used to make it fire-retardant? Best of luck!
