Question:

have an oil canvas painting trying to get appraised where would I do this?

painting is entitled Crossing the River there is a number on the back printed by the artist 4967 it is approximately 3 foot by 2 foot

Answer:

Try an antiques store. Go to about five or six of them, though. One time I went to a similar store and asked if I could buy a piece of copper sheet that looked like it was once a top for a chest. The lady wanted something ridiculous like 50 bux for it. I was like no way. I know someone else might have let me have it for 10. So, go to a lot of these stores because the estimation of the painting may swing greatly.
