total personal choice, i never liked amber ones only clear ones. Try yourself to confirm.
If your parents want you in bed at a certain time just do it.. Or with all the stuff you have you probably have an iPod touch or something that you could lay in bed with the lights out and play games on it and go online. If you have all this awesome stuff (which I assume your parents gave you) why not respect them by going to bed when they want you to? Or at least come up with some kind of compromise.
A few other notes: Apply more heat to thicker brass parts when connecting brass to copper this will help against cold solder joints. When working with valves you can wrap a wet rag around the valve stem to help prevent the seals from burning or just remove the stem during the sweat process then reinstall. Not sure of your skill level so I thought this would help. Many times when doing this for the first time more heat is applied then needed thus causing damage to the valves components. Good luck
At night the amber will cut the glare making it easier to ride safely. Its the same reason gun range glasses are amber. Less flash and glare.
