I have a propane wall furnace that is double sided to heat two rooms. It was working fine, but in the last week, it has started emitting a strange odor. I can't quite pinpoint exactly what it smells like, but I think it could be carbon monoxide. I bought a C02 detector and I do get readings from it. I had a heating technician come and take everything apart to clean it and check it out. He said that everything looked good and that my detector was just overly sensitive. The pilot light and burner flames are mostly blue. I still smell this same strange odor when I run the furnace, especially in the bedrooms. It subsides when the furnace shuts off. If the furnace is burning correctly, could it be the vent? Please help!
Cracked heat exchangers emitting carbon monoxide
certain many situations. regularly, I positioned my palms accidently into the socket. some times, I felt electric powered marvel at the same time as checking the line with a defective tester(i'm not a mechanic, a student). I had also touched a open cord. AC cutting-edge has a earnings. They throw you back at the same time as get a marvel. DC the position holds you on your man or woman posture subsequently causing extreme harm.
With electric heat, heat pump or resistance heat, the only thing would possibly be a fire. With regular maintenance it's unlikely. With any fuel burning appliance (wood, fuel oil, gas) there is a possibility of it producing carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide detectors are getting as common as the smoke detector. Available at most hardware stores. Buy a good quality one and have your furnace inspected yearly.
