I own a ranchThe top floor is about 1/3 a finished room, with the other 2/3 being an atticThe wall between the room and the attic is apparently not insulated very well, and the small baseboard heater for the finished room is against the attic wall, so all the heat just goes right out, and the room is very cold in the winterI'm looking to insulate the attic side of this wallIt doesn't have to look especially pretty since it's on the attic sideI'm just wondering which insulation for this type of job is a) best, b) most value for the buck, and c) not impossible to install for the average personBlown-in is not an option since it's basically plywood between the rooms and nothing to hold it in.Thanks!
they are basically the same except a boom truck usually has a trailer and is used to haul things like limber or roof trusses
Lots of different types of insulating ideasWhat nobody has addressed is the vapor barrier issue, which needs to be between the insulation and the warm side of the wallIt needs to be an unbroken sealNormally, a sheet of 6 mil plastic is stapled and taped to the studs of an outside wall before the wallboard is appliedSince you are doing it from the back side of the wall, or cold room, you can't get a continuous sheet of polyYou're best bet is to use rigid styrofoam, or the spray on stuff.which isn't cheap.
