Question:

Hole in 3" galvanized steel water main pipe . Can a professional plumber please make a recommendation.?

Quoted $10k to replace entire water main pipe from meter located in sidewalk to our condo building. Replace with cooper or PVC? If replace then must be brought up to code: add back flow, get permits, supply engineer report, current pipe depth not to code. This is too much money and too much work?

Answer:

Riding in one or two inches of freshly fallen snow isn't much of a problem, but if there is hard packed show underneath then ice can be a danger. Off road tyres that have tapering studs tend to clog less in snow, and also grip a bit better of firm packed snow. Ice is always a potential threat to remaining upright, as someone else mentioned studded tyres are available, but they are expensive, and can't really be used on tarmac when the snow has cleared. EDIT:- Just added a link to some studded tyres, but they are only available in 700cX42 size. One of my cycles is an MTB based hybrid, and I fit off road tyres (Continental Vertical) during the winter months, and these seem to do the job as well as any other.
Dude, get the Xbox 360 slim. Microsoft COMPLETELY fixed the RROD.
