Question:

honda remanufatured transmission problems?

i had a honda remanufactured transmission put in my 2006 accord a month ago and when i go down hills at around 60 miles an hour then slow down to 40 the car automaticly downshifts into fourth gear (this is normal) but when i step back on the gas the rpms go up to 3000 then it shifts into 5th gear (this seems kind of high rpms.and when it goes into overdrive, i can watch the rpms flare up about 500 rpm before it actually goes into overdriveis this normal /

Answer:

First. Was there any sort of warranty with this remanufactured transmission? 12 months /12,000 miles is common for a remanufactured transmission. If it has a warranty bring it back to the repair shop immediately. Please don't be insulted by the next part of my answer. Honda transmissions are junk. They are very prone to problems. Open your favorite Internet search page. Search for Honda transmission problems without the quotes and you will see what I mean. Personally, if I were you. Get the transmission working. Then eiter sell or trade this car. Replace it with anything but another Honda. If you get another Honda you risk more transmission problems as this has been an issue with Honda for a long time.
