How did you like the series ending of the Shield? Was it what you expected? Just curious on your thoughts:-)
I don't see anything in the Ohio Revised Code indicating the state requires it, but the City of Columbus does and other cities may as well. Note that not all residences are required to have them (building age matters). Also, while the owner is required to provide them, it is the occupant's duty to maintain the smoke detector.
