Question:

How accurate are tarot card readings/readers?

I was just curious as it interests me. My mum is a big believer and goes to lots of card readers. I went to one a couple of weeks ago that seemed pretty bogus (she just left some cards on a table and told us to 'grab whatever' and then proceeded to say the same thing, eg moving house, going on holiday, finding love, ect), but my mum see's this one woman who she swears blind gets her cards right ever time. I've often thought, is card reading really real or do we just make the 'information' fit? Like if the reader says you're going through a difficult patch or you're unhappy with your life you just make yourself think she's right?

Answer:

As you probably know, it really depends on the reader and their approach. Most of this predictive stuff I find hard to believe. The future is not set in stone. The cards aren't meant to predict some inescapable future, what would be the point if you can't escape it, right? I use the cards to offer insight into how to deal with issues in life. It's only as accurate as you make it. The cards give ideas for how to deal with situations. A good reader will be able to seperate the ideas that won't work from the ideas that might work and will present the best possibilities to the seeker. The cards can also show hidden influences and some future potentials to help prepare people for the possibilities, but they cannot predict the future. If your mother enjoys the readings she gets from this reader, what's the harm in her going? As long as this reader isn't filling her with paranoia and she's not basing her whole life on the results of these readings, then the process is probably therapeutic for her. Hopefully, your mother is learning to follow her own heart and her own gut instinct (perhaps with the occasional nudge from the cards). -Scarlet
Is is not the Tarot card that is accurate, it's the person doing the studying. The cards are just a device used for the psychic messages to go with the flow. Most of what's obvious someday can also be converted through new alternatives. Since we've got free will, there are very few things which can be carved in stone. A excellent reader will tips you about how you can trade the negatives into positives.Having a studying is an opportunity to avoid those bumps in the street and have a better and happier existence. That is the cause of having a reading.
Tarot card reading is nothing but a scam. They use vague and leading responses to find what YOU want to hear, and then simply parrot if back to you. No more accurate than flipping coins to guide your life.
I taught myself how to do this years ago and some of my readings had people saying, Hey, yes that's right! But generally speaking, I'm not convinced.
They say vague enough things and pick up on your responses to direct it and the person getting the reading fills in lots of blanks themselves to make it all fit without even realizing it often. When a person goes to the same tarot card reader or psychic repeatedly it can become somewhat more specific and make them think the person is more genuine and on target because they pick up information on them over visits to tailor the readings and learn their body cues of when they are on a topic or suggestion that is hitting home for them. I think stuff like that can be fun and it can make you aware of issues that are in your mind and work through them by making you a little more aware of things like that and bringing them to your conscious. I seriously doubt there is any great supernatural, psychic thing going on and you shouldn't let people like that take advantage financially, consider it the money you would be willing to spend on any entertainment and don't spend more. That is unless they are actually giving you such great information it is really paying off in some way for you, I've never known it to happen though. I have known of lonely, insecure, troubled people becoming emotionally dependent and also scams where they tell people who are having troubles its due to some bad spell or curse or something and they have to give them money and they can clear it for them. You have to be careful of scams.
