you can not download songs without software the computer and phone have no clue what you are trying to do because it has nothing that is connecting themit depends on what kind of phone but more than likely you can't get any software downloaded for free for your phone i know personally motorola is the worst they make you pay for the disc and the cable like 49 bucks.
