Question:

How can I make plastic softer?

Ok, I have this pair of Roller blades (Inline Skates) that I love to skate in. My plastic wheels can't grip the smooth concrete. I know i should buy some rubber wheels, but is there a way to make my plastic wheels softer so than can grip the concrete better?

Answer:

You can use the grey pipe as long as you aren't using it for potable (drinking) water. If you are using standard white fittings, which will be visible, I really don't understand the use of the grey pipe in the first place. You can paint the pvc pipe any color you want, you could also bury the piping.
Using electrical PVC like you are planning is common practice for irrigation. The grey PVC holds up very well to UV where as the white does not. The OD is the same as well. The main difference from the manufacturer is that it has stiffeners in the plastic because water lines have water to keep them round electrical use does not so it needs a stiffener added to it. There is grey glue as well. Also I know in my case I can get the grey pipe cheaper than the white another benefit is that you can get sweep 90s for grey where as they are nearly impossible to get for the white.
I wanted to do the same thing a few years ago. Here's what I did: 1) Take a class in studio lighting techniques. This is critical because of the feedback from the instructor. Also, you can actually see the setups and how they work. 2) Get a couple of books on portrait lighting and studio lighting. These will generally show a variety of setups and the photographs taken with those setups. 3) Get some seamless paper rolls (black, gray, white) and maybe a painted canvas or muslin for backgrounds. The combination of these backgrounds and your lighting setup will give you a wide variety of looks. 4) You'll need to get some kind of pro strobe setup with light modifiers. This would consist of a power pack and three or four heads, or an alternative would be three or four monolights. But I would not buy this stuff until you take the class. In addition to the technical side, you probably will want to get a basic sense of the business requirements - in other words, how do you get clients, what will they expect, etc.
not sure what the grey pipe is made of, might say on the pipe, but i do know that pvc is susceptible to u.v. rot. Either way if you want it to last more than two or three years it needs to be painted. They make all sorts of combo glues and ABS glues, the side of the can will tell you. Most likely the fittings will be different also. Plumbers use inside diameter for labeling and electricians use outside diameter i believe.
very confusing task. try searching in google or bing. that can help!
