I have an ex that used to ride a bike instead of drive a car, and to be honest it used to be a bit of a turn off as he bluntly refused to learn to drive despite having the money If you CAN drive but just choose to ride a bike though to save money, I'd say that's quite cool, except it's not as romantic being picked up for a date with your bike atow as it would being picked up by a car!
Remove the detector from the mount, disconnect it by unplugging the unit and then open the hidden battery compartment in the back of the unit. Replace the batteries in the unit and reinstall it. That should solve the problem. If it continues to chirp, then you need to replace the whole unit. They are designed for a 5 year life span, but some last longer than that. most have a 1 year warranty. They will usually alarm when the battery gets cold and the voltage drops too low. This is usually about 4 am.
