remove the tire, then remove the bolt from the bottom ball joint ( there is no upper ball joint with front wheel drive vehicles, that is in the strut. then you have to remove the brake assembly ( rotor and caliper ) then it takes a heavy duty steel pry bar to move the strut ( on bottom part of strut ) to release the joint,the axle pulls out with a little force, on some vehicles the cv joint/axle has bolts that hold the axle to the flange in the reansmission
