Question:

How can you download pics from a camera using a card reader instead of a usb Cable?

I have a Nikon Coolpix L6 camera and use Windows XP on my computer. I have never used a card reader. Can you explain?

Answer:

Open My Computer and plug in the card reader, a number of new drives with an associated Drive Letter will appear, one for each slot on the reader. Put your card in the reader and click on the new drives in turn all will show an error screen (no media or something similar) except one which will open the folder on the card, remember the drive letter as thats the one that you will need to use in the future. Then its the same drag and drop as before. Chris
Yes it's possible and very easy. I would ask a knowledgeable friend because it depends on a few things that would take to long to explain
yes its so simple and fast also u can by a simple card reader of any brand and connect to your pc remove the memory card from camera put it in reader slot your pc will automatically lunch a Microsoft camera and scanner wizard just clik next teb select the photos wich u want to download . u have done !
You have to remove the memory card from the camera and put it in the reader. The card will now show up as a disc drive and (depending on your set up) you'll either have to copy the files across yourself, or they will automatically copy into a dated directory in the Pictures section of your User Documents area.
