Question:

How do ceramic pickups work?

I bought an Ibanez the other day, from the RGA series, and it said that it had active ceramic pickups. I know what active pickups are but I have no idea what ceramic pickups are. How do they work and what part of them is ceramic?

Answer:

I definitely recommend the freezer option, only time I couldn't do that for every bit of gum I've got on me is when I got it in my hair! lol
Use Goo Gone and once it's removed, rub some Dawn dish liquid on both sides to clean the greasy residue if there's some.
Ceramic pickups have a really heavy sound. So much that they're used in distortion pickups most of the time. I think the only part of the pickup that is ceramic is the magnet itself. So you got yourself some really hot and heavy pickups on that Ibanez.
