The monitoring company should respond when the alarm goes off as well as fire department. Most false alarms are very dangerous because they will be ignored. If the monitoring company has not brought the fire department in when the alarm is activated, I would want to why. After a false alarm the monitoring company is warned, a repeat of the situation results in a heavy fine and loss, eventually of company certification, for the alarm system. Call the managers first, then the fire marshall if it keeps happening.
