How do i program my mitsubishi tv remote to also work my cable box?

I have a 73 inch dlp tv, I want to programe my remote to the comcast hd cable box so i can have just one remote,The comcast remote does not fully work with the tv.

Answer:

You gotta get out your instruction booklet for your Mitsubishi TV set and find the codes for the box they use for cable. Follow the instructions and you're done.
You don't need to know the details of the signal your original TV remote transmits, at least normally. Programmable remotes like the one from the cable company program with a code in a database, the code just being the entry in the database. Actual technical specs are programmed into the database entry, hence your non-need to know them. All you need is the list of codes for the remote from the manufacturer or vendor of the remote or the device it is for. It will list the codes for various manufacturers of TVs, DVD players, etc.
Your Mitsubishi TV Remote must be a Universal Remote, if you want it to work for another device, along with your TV. It is a Universal Remote if you see buttons labeled VCR, AUX, or Cable. If you see a button that says Cable, that means that your remote can be programmed to control your C Cable Box. You will need to look in the User Manual for your TV, in order to find the code to program the Cable Box on your remote. If your remote is not a Universal Remote, then you cannot program your remote to use any other device, besides your TV.
