Question:

How do I raise a Lady Slipper Orchid from seed?

I‘ve got about 1,000 Lady Slipper Orchid seeds, and I wanted to plant a few. How would I go about planting it from seed? As for the special orchid mix soil stuff, are there any homemade substitutes for this mix? I know bark and broken bricks work well, but do I mix only that? Can anyone help with all of these questions?

Answer:

Your back tire will wear out first. You can move the front to the back and put the new one on the front. I would rather have a flat on the rear then the front anytime. Depending on how much you spend on tires and your budget will determine the best option. I run the tires until the cords start to show.
not really it doesn;t increase total wear at all keep newest one on the front doesn;t really matter much tread does nothing on a bike tire [road anyway] a newer one is less likely to get a flat though an unexpected flat on the front is much worse than the back wle
experiment I think is the answer. I think put a few seeds on the surface of a good compost and cover with vermiculite or even just place a glass cover over and a sheet of paper to keep the light out. Think how they might grow in the wild and try to produce the same environment (temperature and humidity) that usually works with most seeds. Orchids tend to need very little moisture and grow on the most inhospitable positions. If I'm not mistaken the Slipper Orchid tend to grow on on rotten tree branches in the wild and like a mist spray every few hours rather than watering as normal plants. Good luck and hope this helps
