Not being a Time Warner customer, but familiar with cable companiesmy answer would be to call the cable company. They will probably have you bring in the unit so they can reset it our exchange it for another one. After all it would defeat the purpose if it was easy to do. Then your kids would have already figured it out.
first try 0-0-0-0 as the passcode. If not call them up and they can walk you thru on the phone.
