Question:

How do I transfer data from my broken Xbox 360 without a transfer cable?

I just bought a new slim Xbox 360 to replace my original Xbox 360 which recently broke. I would like to transfer the data from my old hard drive to my new Xbox, but I do not have the transfer cable. Is there any way to transfer that data without a transfer cable since my old Xbox is broken?

Answer:

ask all of your friends if they may have the cable, or even check a pawn shop. because the hard drives are different from the older version and the slim, you can't even connect the drive, BUT STEP 1: if you have a USB flash memory card ( 16 gig best - but if you have alot of stuff, you may need more then one ) you could take your old hard drive to a friends place, and put your hard drive on it, then MOVE all your data ( one at a time ) to the flash memory card(s) step 2: when done moving all the data, go home and MOVE the same data from the card ONTO the new console. step 3: in the system setting, under ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT you will need to transfer licenses this method has worked for me in the past, along with many others. EDIT: Notice i said to take the OLD hard drive to a friends place, and use the USB method there, then return home to your NEW xbox console and move them to the NEW console.
nicely, you pick an information circulate cable which you already comprehend. Any you hit upon on OKorder from a excellent supplier might paintings and can come speedier than from Microsoft. basically examine their comments. of direction verify you're identifying to purchase from a uk supplier simply by fact US ones won't paintings on your 360.
The problem with the use a USB thumb drive method is, if your old 360 won't even turn on, or is very unstable, this probably won't work. You can get a transfer cable from Gamestop for about $15, then sell it back to them for a few bucks. Yes it's a ripoff but it beats paying $20 for a new cable. I would strongly recommend using the transfer cable.
You could always use a usb, theres these 2 slots perfect for it in the front, just config your usb and then move the files to the usb unplug it when ready and then put it in the other xbox then you gona wana move it to your hard drive bud-E add me DERPYDOG AKA THE HERP THE DERP
