I just bought a new slim Xbox 360 to replace my original Xbox 360 which recently broke. I would like to transfer the data from my old hard drive to my new Xbox, but I do not have the transfer cable. Is there any way to transfer that data without a transfer cable since my old Xbox is broken?
ask all of your friends if they may have the cable, or even check a pawn shop. because the hard drives are different from the older version and the slim, you can't even connect the drive, BUT STEP 1: if you have a USB flash memory card ( 16 gig best - but if you have alot of stuff, you may need more then one ) you could take your old hard drive to a friends place, and put your hard drive on it, then MOVE all your data ( one at a time ) to the flash memory card(s) step 2: when done moving all the data, go home and MOVE the same data from the card ONTO the new console. step 3: in the system setting, under ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT you will need to transfer licenses this method has worked for me in the past, along with many others. EDIT: Notice i said to take the OLD hard drive to a friends place, and use the USB method there, then return home to your NEW xbox console and move them to the NEW console.

The problem with the use a USB thumb drive method is, if your old 360 won't even turn on, or is very unstable, this probably won't work.
