How do you put out a petrol fire?

If you didn't have a fire extinguisher how could you put out a small flammable liquid fire only using things people normally have in their houses?

You should always protect your hands from harsh chemicals and germs by wearing rubber gloves no matter what cleaning you do, they say your hands shows the first sign of ageing.
If used frequently or by many vehicles on the same roadway, tire chains (and studded snow tires) cause extreme wear on the surface of the roadway. It's not unusual to see deep grooves worn in the road surface of highways that get a lot of vehicles using chains or metallic studs in their tires. These grooves in the road surface can be a hazard to traffic too because they tend to fill up with water when it rains, and even on dry roads, the grooves can grab a cars tire and make it hard to steer. Apparently the province of Ontario has decided that they would prefer to deal with a few random car accidents on slick roadways rather than have to resurface the roads every two or three years.
