Question:

How do you stop a car alarm from going off if the owner of the vehicle isnt home?

My neighbors are away for about the next 3 months and they are leaving their car in our visitors spot and the car alarm keeps going off about every hour and I don‘t know how to stop it. It‘s very loud and all the other neighbors are complaining and they think it‘s our car.

Answer:

Jack the car up on one end so it tilts. Most car alarms have a mercury switch in them that shuts it off in the event it gets towed. Putting the car up on one end should stop the alarm.
If the paved surfaces are flat and smooth then the road tire may work for you but if you encounter rocks or gravel and tree roots are breaking thru the paved surface then I would go with the cyclocross at a minimum as it will better be able to handle that stress.
In addition to the existing answers, a lot also depends on how you ride your bike: If you sit heavy in the saddle and bounce over all the obstacles, then rims, tyres (US: tires) and spokes will all suffer. Stouter versions will help. So would suspension. However, I am a heavy, tall rider and use 700 x 35C tyres on my road hybrid bike quite easily. When I spot a dip in the road/path/etc I rise out of the saddle and rock the bike over the obstacle by first putting my weight back to ease the front wheel over, then putting my weight forward to ease the rear wheel over. My pedals are held fore and aft during this.
Break the drivers door window and reach in and pop the hood. Take an axe and chop the wires going to the battery. Then pour gasoline on the car and torch it for good measure.
Almost every car will reset itself after a minute or two. But as far as the car alarm going off, nothing really. Tell the owner that they might want ot get it looked at.
