How do you subtract a fraction with square brackets?

Hell Everyone, I am a little bit confused on this one problem. I need help with breaking down this a little further. Regular subtraction of a fraction problem but the end portion has square brackets around [5/6] and a small number 4 at upper right corner of fraction. puzzled on how to solve end portion. PLEASE HELP!!!Here is the problem as it reads:1-[5/6]4

Answer:

square brackets just mean the absolute value so that it always has to be positive whatever is in the brackets.
