I bought the cable with an installation disk, Windows found the hardware and found the driver on the install disk, and it was the correct one for my XP operating system. It completed with a successful install message, but I don't see at this point how I can use it. It doesn't show up as a new drive, storage device, or anything else in my computer. Theres no new program on the desktop for it, and theres no executable on the install disk. Any ideas?
I have a samsung mobile (Next G A701) and I have an Icon on my desktop for Samsung studio, The cord plugs into a USB port and other end plugs into phone same socket as charger, I can backup my phone contents to my PC, and get updates for phone on line. I suggest you try reinstalling the studio from the cd again, after you remove it with add / remove from control panel.
I can see that the cable is working but your phone may not support mass storage. This is why it does not show up as a drive. You should download the PC Suite and it should be able to communicate with your phone. The software will come together with your phone on a CD.
Not as intelligent as you guy's concerning cell phones. After i install the needed software for the phone in my computer, and wish to download photo's and videos saved on the phone, I plug the USB cable into the phone, and computer. (Sorry about the Run-On!) Then depending on the phone style, I flip it open, slide it open, or press On. Now press the key that takes you into the vid section, and press the key/s to download the media. The program interface comes up then.
i do not know what phone model or phone carrier you have , but once connected , it will usually show up in my computer as a removable storage drive if your phone has a data storage disk in it. Another use for the cable, will allow your phone to be used as a modem, for accessing the internet. If you have Sprint as a carrier, DO NOT USE IT AS A MODEM WITHOUT FIRST GETTING IT ADDED TO YOUR PLAN. It cost about 40 dollars a month to have it on your phone plan, but if you access the internet without having it on your plan Sprint will FINANCIALLY RAPE you
