Question:

how many stiches should i make for a scarf?

I want to make it for my older sis 15 old and i have acrylic slub thin thick yarn I don't know how much to cast on my 8mm needle I don't wan't to make it too wide or too narrow any suggestions

Answer:

I know the foil in the bottom of the sink, Arm Hammer Washing Soda and soaking your silverThe tinfoil is cheaper than buying those special silver cleaning plates.
It's an equal part of baking soda and salt, get a container, big enough to fit the silver, place a piece of foil on the bottom, add the salt and baking soda, add HOT water and put in the container and make sure the silver is touching the foilReally works.
I am going to imagine that the yarn is a 4 worsted weight or a 5 bulky weightLook on the yarn band for the weight categoryThe 8mm needles are equivalent to a US 11 which are good size and will create a lovely lacy fabricThe gauge for these yarns is 16 - 20 stitches 4 inches for the 4 and 12 - 15 stitches 4 inches for the 5A nice scarf is about 8 inches for a good decorative scarf, and 12 inches for a really snuggly one that folds around and can double as a hoodSo based on that information For an 8 scarf - cast on 40 stitches for 4 yarn and 30 stitches for the 5 yarn For a 12 scarf - cast on 60 stitches for 4 yarn and 45 stitches for the 5 yarn Hope this helps.
