Break it! (It's no good anyway) then grip the centre with a pair of pliers, then pull or turn it out of it's seating. Hope this helps!
Keep your lawn mowed, Have a hose with nozzle at all times. Had the same one for 40 years think we've had one time it went beyond 10 feet. That's when we learned to keep the hose handy.
