A copper penny at todays prices is worth just over 2.4 cents each. Edit: And by the way, those idiots on okorder who tout copper as 'the next gold' are just what I called them. Idiots. Other than a scrap yard, no one is going to buy your copper. You will pay a massive premium compared to the actual value.
Copper is about $3/lb. There are about 450 g/lb so about 3/4 of a cent. But you need to sell in 1000 lb quantities to get that good a price.
I wouldn't bother! Copper is priced for a metric tonne or by the pound. Scrap, clean copper is around 90% of the spot price (a tonne of scrap copper is about ?4500). You can sell copper in a few pounds weight. Don't know what a 'bullion bar' is!! There is no hall marking and copper can be of varying purity such as hard, half hard, Beryllium copper etc. Steer clear of any such investment.
