Do you mean file a wrongful termination civil lawsuit? You probably can't. Most jobs are at will employment. Any job you can quit for any reason or no reason at all, you can be fired from the same way. An employer doesn't need a good or fair reason to fire an at will employee.
Personally I wouldn't go around telling my spouse about someone at work. I have found from past experience that if my spouse is talking about someone and how great they are, they are already wanting the affair. I talk about the idiots at my work all the time. None of them are on my TO DO list. But if I start talking in a favorable light about someone, then he should probably start worrying, as I am never impressed with anyone.
