Question:

How to CLEAN bearings?? Not lube them?

Without achole

Answer:

What is achole? Bearings are VERY cheap... you can buy them for about $5 for a box of 100 at an industrial supply store. Just search for bearings (no quotes) and your zip code to find the closest place to you. Apparently you asked about cleaning rusted bearings. Forget it... they need to be smooth and round. If they were rusty then no amount of cleaning will help. Ohhh... you mean alcohol. I often use WD40 to clean the internals of hubs and headsets and cranks as it cuts through old grease excellently. You just wipe some good lithium grease in the cups, add the proper bearings, and adjust everything. You should only have enough grease to cover the bearings and races (don't pack it full).
Try brake cleaner form the auto store. Use it outside that stuff is nasty.
I am talking old fashion bearings, I use auto parts cleaner, soak them overnight. Then repack if they look good. Use a container you can shake, like a jar.
Yeah Brake Cleaner would be the best way to clean anything gunked up. It removes any old grease and slime buildup. Although brake fluid does dry out quickly so after you sprayed it and wiped your parts down, lithium grease the bunch. :)
If your bearings are rusted as you described in your previous question, they should be replaced, the surfaces of the balls have been compromised and no amount of cleaning will fix the problem. When you install the new bearings use plenty of grease so that they don't rust again
