Question:

How to make a USB data cable from an AC Adapter?

I want to put custom ringtones on my new Virgin Mobile phone, but their site doesnt have my favorites. So I want to make a custom cable. However, I think there are four wires in a USB cable and two in an AC adapter. The connection between the two sets of two will give me a USB charger, but how do I make it into a data chaarger???

Answer:

Get a proper Data cablevery simple thing
if your phone has a microsd card slot you could get a card reader/writer that can work with microSD cards and you might be able to use that to get a new ringtone on your cell.
Impossible. edit: And don't try it either, you could severely damage your phone, and void your warranty.
You cannot do this. Do Not try or you risk destroying the devices. I suggest that you get a software product called Data Pilot. This is a product created to interface various phone brands and PCs. It comes with the software tools and an assortment of Phone-to-USB connecting cables. It isn't free, but it's cheaper than screwing up your devices.
You don't, Ya BUY a data cable for the phone.
