I‘m buying aftermarket rims from ebay and they dont come with a set of rubber tires so i want to take the tires off the stock rims and reuse them but how can i do that without damaging them?
im pretty sure nothing, but if ur thinking of a twist for making a compass, its not that.
You need the equipment only found at tire shops, like America's Tire. Take them there and pay the charge to get it done right.
Have it done professionally. It will only cost about 10 to 20 bucks a tire. They have to be balanced or they simple will not ride properly. Balancing is a must, and you need special equipment to do so.
First off, you've got it backwards. You don't take the rims off the tire, you take the tire off the rim. Then you have to make sure that the tires that you have will fit your new rims. Since most people buy larger rims from the aftermarket, your current tires may not fit. Your best bet is to take the car and your new rims to a local tire store and let the professionals mount and balance your tires on your new rims. Shouldn't cost more than $10-$20 per wheel.
