Question:

I have a 2000 chevy sliverado 5.3L V8 i was wondering when the LOW FUEL warning light comes on how much fuel?

do you have left I think I have a 26 gallon tank I have a 8 foot bed thanks I just don‘t want to run out I know the gauge show you I just wonder how much is left when the light comes on does anyone know by the way its a chevy 1500 if that helps

Answer:

I don't think I have ever heard of stainless steel water pipes before except in special conditions like acid or something caustic. Copper is of course the pipes of choice or PVC which have special conditions also. They are cheaper and easier to put in but, I'll stand with copper every time.
Copper is fine! Stainless is way to expensive and labor intensive. Don't even consider letting someone sell you on stainless steel pipe in a home. It's not necessary and would be a total rip off.
Stainless Steel Water Line
Approx 1.8 gals. However the Silverado/GMC instruments are notoriously inaccurate.
About two gallons left. You shouldn't run your auto below a 1/4 of a tank because you are pumping all the water and trash out of the bottom of your tank and going straight to your fuel system. Also, below 1/4 your fuel pump doesn't have any fluid to work in to keep it cool, so get ready to replace the fuel pump too. You are way below 1/4 when the light comes on, so put some fuel in it before it cost you.
