What is the difference between a twin mattress and a bunk bed mattress? Also is it necessary to get a bunk bed mattress and what is the benefit to doing so?Thanks.
My sons shared a bunk bed an this is what I learned: A bunk bed is the size of a twin mattress: 39 wide by 76 long. Bunk beds do not have box springs. Some bunk beds have ample support in the platform where the mattress rests and can accommodate a regular twin mattress. Other bunk beds require bunk bed mattresses, which have their own support system built into the bottom section of the actual mattress. Hope this clarifies the difference between the two.
