Answer:

Judging from the comments above, I am not even going to read your source material. I use Nikon SLR's, but I also have a pocket camera that has an easy-to-use FE Lock feature - the Canon SD900. Maybe it works the same on your Canon camera. Suppose you want to properly expose your husband, but you do not want him to be necessarily centered in the metering zone. There is no quickly turning involved. Aim at your husband. Press the shutter button half-way down. Press the FE Lock button, if there is one or the AE Lock button if there is not an FE Lock button. (On my camera, I press the shutter half-way and then press the ISO button to achive FE Lock.) You can then recompose with your husband anywhere you want him in the frame. The camera will STILL autofocus at the metering point, which might be a different distance from your husband, but the flash will discharge to give you the proper exposure for your husband.
It is probably safe but it is not advised for a different reason. Memory foam is already temperature sensitive. It is made out of visco elastic material which has the unique ability to conform to your body by responding to your body heat, softening in areas where you need it most. By putting an electric blanket on top you may cause it to soften even further which will eventually prevent it form giving you the adequate level of support. Also you no longer need any additional heating because the foam will respond to your body heat as you lie on it and will quickly warm up.
you problem is circled and highlighed in blue on your car.
