Question:

I have a question about my CV axles?

Alright, the driver‘s axle clicks whenever I turn right, which is common of a torn CV axle. However, if I turn left there will also be be some clicking, but the passenger side CV is hardly even started deteriorating. So is the driver‘s side CV torn bad enough (it‘s torn all the way around) that it will click whenever I try to turn? Also, is there a temporary fix for this, as I won‘t be able to afford an axle for about another week?

Answer:

If someone was able to jump start your car, then you probably just need a battery. But get your alternator checked out just in case (its free at autozone). if neither of those 2 fix your problem, then it might be the starter. but most of the time its either a battery or alternator problem
tap on the starter while someone is trying to crank on it. be careful don't run over yourself. and i said tap not smash. use a wrench. might be a bad starter. check battery connections first.
The bad one can 'click' in either direction of turn. And you say it has a torn boot or seal, spray some silicone into the hole as a temp fix.
in the first place it,s the joint that clicks, not the axle and once the rubber boot tears then the grease runs out and ruins the joint ! it can click turning right or left !
First off all no CV axle on the face of the earth clicks. It's a physical impossibility for solid axle to make noise! I think you mean the CV-joint clicks which is a possibility. Constant velocity joints and axles are sold at all auto parts stores as half shafts. It's a $60.00 part.
