Question:

What are some good exhaust systems and cold air intakes for a 2008 mitsubishi lancer?

I want more speed. obviously with new exhaust will come a different sound. The sound doesnt matter to me as long as its not a fart cannon sound like u get from a glasspack. What are the best systems for performance gains?

Answer:

Technically, the stock air intake on the 2008+ Lancer is a Cold Air Intake. The opening is just behind the front grill. Cold air comes fromt eh gril and up through Radiator cowl/grill and into the intake. And unless you live in an area of extreme heat, an after market CAI isn't going to give you any more gains than say the stock CAI or a Short Ram Intake (SRI). You will however, get the growl-y noise from a CAI or SRI. Alternately, the Stock Ralliart Snorkle/Intake body is wider than the stock Lancer/GTS intake and is a direct bolt on part. You don't get the growl noise of an SRI/CAI, but combined with a KN Drop in filter, you get pretty good perfromance gains. Exhaust is purely a matter of choice in sound. I prefersomething a bit over the stock sound, but not fart can/bees buzzing loud. I have the Borla 11782 exhaust.idle and crusing the sound is barely above stock.however, accelerating and decelerating the noise can get pretty loud.
for performance the ones they left japan with
