Question:

I have an 89 plymouth reliant K car Am replacing the A.C.It doesnt have an orifice tube so what does it have?

My friend sais it has an expansion valve that does the same job as the orifice tube? Expansion block? So where is it located? What does it look like? I know I need to get a service manual!

Answer:

You can do it with small stubby sheet metal screwsJust know that the window will not close all the way with the screws installedSo, that's your dilemma: is it okay for the windows to not close all the way the entire time the screens are installed? One option might be to epoxy the hinges in place on the window frame and unscrew them from the screen itself when you don't want them installedBut, the hinges would be there permanently (at least until you pried them off).
you're screwed! should've used tapeit is possible to fix but will take a high level of skill to complete the task properlyThis requires an aluminum braising rod and a blow torchGood luck!
A PRODUCT CALLED GUTTER GLUE-COLOR IS GRAY,COMES IN A SQUEEZE TUBE-LOCAL HARDWARE STORE GOOD LUCK
If you have the 2.6 engine in it then yes you should have a orifice tube in the a/c system, Mitsubishi stuff, and if you have the 2.2 engine then you should have the expansion valve blockIt is aluminum on the passenger side outer firewall in front of the alternatorIf the a/c lines are there and all is hooked up and the block is not there you have to locate the orifice tubeSome times parts would be swapped around to get the car built if other parts weren't available and a Parts TSB would be issued so that when doing warranty work the mechanic could get the right part to complete the jobReason it can be either or is that Iaccoca pushed real hard to get the car line out and didn't want to hear excuses on why there would be delays on production releases,
