Answer:

Go with copper. Always go with copper.
copper is more expensive than pex but its up to you also mice like to chew on plastic so you decide
Dings are a generic term for damage to the surface of surfboard. Pressure dings, those little round dents usually caused by your knees or heels, are basically harmless. You have just compressed the surface of the foam blank and indented the glass cloth and polyester or epoxy resin skin. As long as they are not too deep, with radiating cracks that can leak water into the foam blank, they are harmless. Dings from slight impacts, that just fracture the outer layers of resin are also usually harmless, you just have to be carefull that they are deep enough for water to leak into the foam blank. Water will ruin the foam blank, and create mold and rot in no time. You can surf with them, temporarily, but they should be fixed at your earliest convenience. Dings that clearly go through the glass, and damage the foam blank are critical. You have to get them fixed as soon as possible. Never stick wax in a ding, it makes it miserable to get out to fix the ding. A surf sticker is a fair temporary patch, so you don't have to cut your session short. Duct tape might seem like a good patch, but it really isn't water tight enough. You can practice ding repair with do it yourself kits available in a surf shop, on the little stuff, but, if you aren't skilled with fiberglass work, take your bigger ones to the shop for the ding man to fix. I have been surfing for 43 years, and fixed dozens and dozens of dings, but I still rtake the big ones to the shop.
