Question:

I have no idea why my Memory Card Reader/Writer will not workCould any help please?!?

Hi. I just bought a Targus USB Memory Card Reader/Writer. I did what it said and installed a device driver. It said I couldn't do anymore until I plugged in the device so it could read the disk. I did so and it did absolutely nothing. I went into My Computer and clicked on the new drive that showed up when I plugged it init said there was no disk. I am so confused and Ive been trying everything. I have the SanDisk microSDHC Card in the Adapter that I have in the Targus (TGR-SD20).When I did plug it in a USB port in the back of the computer, something popped up saying there was new hardware and that it was installed but even after that.nothing worked and it said nothing was in the hard drive even though it just said new hardware was found. If anyone knows what I can do to get this stupid thing to workplease let me know. Or should I go out and buy a new Card Reader/Writer? This one is driving me crazy!! Please helpThanks in advance to anyone who actually tries to help :)

Answer:

What size microSD card are you using in it? I've read some reviews that say it can't read anything over 4 gigs, despite its HC packaging claims. One more tip, in the future, when using a card reader, try it first without installing any manufacturers drivers, as most work in Windows and OSX natively. Sometimes card reader drivers actually screw up the ability for other card readers to work on that PC in the future.
Inser the SD card into the drive Open Windows Explorer Select the files you want to copy and drag them onto the SD card icon in the explorer.
