by transfer do you mean: reflect: in which you would wear white or a reflective material absorption: you would wear black. now to stay cool when it is hot and warm when you're cool, you would need a one way material, that is to make your body heat dissipate and reflect the sunlight to get cool, and you would need a way to trap body heat when it is cold. currently, i don't think there is anything that does that. you would need a change of clothing
As distant objects are hundreds, thousand and even millions of light years away, when the light from these objects finally reach us, we are seeing them as they appeared in the past. For example, there is a galaxy a billion light years from Earth. Therefore it has taken the light from that galaxy a billion years to travel to Earth for us to view it. As that light originated a billion years ago, we see what the galaxy looked like a billion years ago. We would have to wait another billion years (stick around if you want) to see what it looks like today.
