You may not park: Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant or fire station driveway On a marked or unmarked crosswalk Within 3 feet of a sidewalk ramp for the disabled All of the above
There is nothing inherently wrong with saddle seat, and it can be elegant and exciting. I've dabbled in many breeds and disciplines and I have to say, watching a true park horse prance around the arena is very high on my most exciting horse moments list. However, there are a lot of people out there who will do anything to exaggerate that high stepping, high energy motion. Massive weighting and padding isn't just common in many saddle seat arenas, it is the norm. In addition to the long term affects of these very unnatural shoeing techniques, the horses cannot be on daily turnout in an open area and/or with other horses. And on top of being kept in and wearing nasty shoes, it is also quite common for saddle seat horse trainers to keep the horses constantly on edge and to use excessive training aids. Chains, stretchers, and even fire extinguishers can be found in a lot of saddle seat farms. While certainly there are saddle seat farms out there who don't do these things, there are quite a few that do and it is by no means uncommon in the discipline. And just about anyone who is seriously competitive at the upper levels is doing these things. Because these techniques are quite widespread, saddle seat gets a negative stigma. Part of why I like purebred Arab saddleseat best. Certainly Arab trainers are by no means innocent, and there are definitely those out there who push the boundaries and do nasty things, but there is a lot more regulation on the Arab circuit than there is for Saddlebreds and Morgans. These things aren't even the extreme end of it and aren't even considered illegal (though you can't show with stretchers and chains), there are people who will go as far as soring their horses' feet either through shoeing or caustic agents and breaking their tales to get a higher set look.
It does sound quite funny but unfortunately I don't think it plays in my area.
