As you can see from above this is my first LE job, I was wondering if anyone can make any recommendations for gloves with the context of doing searches and what not. I know that they compromise feel but I was wondering if there are any out there that have some balance between protection and feeling. Thank you all.

Just sit around the fire watch it. Listen to music, drink a mixed drink, laugh and listen to people tell jokes.. There is something about the fire you just want to stare at??
During the day, run the furnace at the same time as the water heater and see if that trips the breaker. I.e. if the breaker trips as soon as one of them come on, then that's your problem. They both draw a lot of current, if they're on the same breaker that will be a problem.
