I need some fabric suggestions for sewing!?

Answer:

i would think you would need some steel that wouldn't deform when you went to bend it around italso it would be easier if you had something that was at a fixed position so you could push the plate against it and it wouldn't moveI don't know if you want to hammer the plate because if will leave dents in itif you want a sharp bend, maybe you could place the sheet on concrete, place a block of wood on the bend line, put something heavy on top of the block of wood, maybe drive a car tire on top of it, that way it won't movestart bending the plate up by hand to aroud 45 to 60 degrees then take another block of wood and place against the part your bending up and strike the wood with a hammer to get a straight uniform bendif you want a rounded bend you could use a piece of pipe in the same mannerIf your bending more that one piece or can see where you would have use for a bender in the future, harbor freight tools sells a kinda crude brake for about 30 bucks, i bought one a while back, best i can remember you can bend up to 18 wide materials at a straight bend.
there is a special break press to bend the metalyou can also fold it over a board and hammer it, but that will not be a nice, smooth bendYou can go to the hardware store and just buy a mounting bracket or even a bent piece of aluminum.
most welding shops have sheet metal bendersTry taking it therePvc pipe and hammering on it would only dent it up and not make a good bend.
I would start with woven cottontry a pillowDo you want to learn how to sew? learn how to read a patternget easy patterns at the fabric storeA PJ bottom is a good beginner projectYou want flannel for them get some books from your library toobut to start, get some woven cotton and play with your machineLearn how it works and what it can dobe comfortable threading it and winding the bobbinLearn to sew a straight stitch, keeping it a 5/8, which is what most garment seams are sewn atLearn to use the zig zag stitchI would find some cotton on sale to mess around with.
