I just bought a stackable washer/dryer unit and I cannot figure out how to hook up the gas connection. There is a hose with a 3/4 male connector, and then my gas line juts out of the wall and appears to be a male 7/8 connection or it is metric (not sure) How do I connect it?Do they make unions that are 3/4 to 7/8? Is that even really possible or is my gas line probably metric? I understand that gas hookups can be dangerous if done incorrectly, but I really cannot afford to hire someone at the moment so 10 points to the most knowledgeable answer!!!
Not necessarily. It would be possible for us to cause the planet to cool if we did something foolhardy like sending a load of aerosols up into the atmosphere. That would have seriously bad consequences for life on Earth, but if we emitted enough aerosols, it could overcome the greenhouse effect and cause the planet to cool. So it's not true that the Earth will continue to heat up *no matter what we do*.
Use a thermal/oxygen barrier, like foam.
