This is actually for a project for one of my classes so it doen't need to be exactI can use either roll in insulation or blow inThe cost should include professional instalation.
it costs under a $1000 bucks in oz for a roof, but we get a government rebate after that too of a few hundred dollars, dont know bout yous though
Ten thousand feet is a really big houseIf the house is two or more stories, the actual attic space will be lessIn addition to knowing the attic size, there are some other issues: is there now (or planned for later) a floor? If so, and the insulation is to go between the ceiling joists, its thickness will be limited to the rafter depthIs the insulation rather to go in the attic ceiling, between the roof rafters? If so, you will need to know the depth of the rafters (plan on leaving an inch or so above the insulation for ventilation, and it may be needed to increase the rafter depth to make this possible)So, get yourself up into the attic with a flashlight, a measuring tape, and a clipboard, and get some dataNext stop is your local large building supply store (in the US, Lowe's or Home Depot), and price out the insulation sorts availableThe smallest recommended for attics is R-19; more is always better if you have room for it and a fat enough walletThe store can arrange for installation; talk to the people there to get an estimate.
