Hi I‘m 14 and I have a friend that rides a motorcycle on the road. He is 15, but he says you can ride one from the age of 14 in Ohio. I‘m not sure if it‘s a motorcycle. it might be a moped that looks like one, but my mom thinks it‘s a good idea if I start riding one, but I don‘t have any idea how to start. help? Oh and I‘m a girl by the way (not that it matters).
If he is riding legally, it is a moped. You can too: www.bmv.ohio /moped_info.stm
Don't listen to your friend. Your friend is completely clueless and is breaking the law. In Ohio, you must have your TIPIC for at least 6 months before you can get your motorcycle learner's permit. Since you can not apply for your TIPIS until you are at least 15 1/2 years old, this means you must be 16 years old before you can apply for your motorcycle TIPIC. You must also attend an approved Driver's education course You must also attend an approved motorcycle basic rider's course The only thing you can ride before you are 16 is a 49cc moped or scooter that is less than 2 horsepower and is designed to go no faster than 30 MPH on a level surface.
Go to the dealer and get a new one. .
