I'm worried I might dig into one of the pipes, and cause a leak.
Did you change the furnace filter before you turned it on? Are you sure it was the fire alarm? If it was the carbon monoxide alarm, DEFINITELY do not turn it back on! I would have a pro check it out before turning it back on if it was my furnace.
I am a member of two sites online. A gentelman on one of these sites said that he was able to use 195mm width tires on his Aveo with no problem.
First time you turned them on this season? Probably accumulated dust burning.
